Carrie Underwood is the highest-earningAmerican Idol winner in a new Forbesranking published last Thursday. Underwood-who won the competition in 2005-made approximately $20 million in pre-tax earnings between May 2010 and May 2011, which is more than the next five most-successful Idol contestants combined. Said Underwood toForbes: "American Idol kick-started me in my career. It gave me an amazing fan base money can't buy."
