The White House goes country. In the words of Obama, the White House's East room was turned into "a bona fide country music hall" last night as Lauren Alaina, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Darius Rucker, James Taylor and the Band Perry were all invited to sing as part of the 'In Performance at the White House' series.
The 'In Performance at the White House' series started in the 70's as a way to showcase different genres of music like R&B, hip hop or, in this case, country. It also promotes muscial education. The preformers even spent Monday giving music lessons to local kids.
You catch the entire performance tomorrow on PBS.
