Reba makes a $60,000 donation

Reba McEntire has donated $60,000 to a school in rural Spavinaw, Okla., that faced a severe budget gap. The school educates 130 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade and had faced a 22 percent budget cut from the previous year. School board president Guy Alloway told the Tulsa World newspaper, "We were $60,000 in the hole." Alloway said he tried to contact the offices of several celebrities to solicit donations and called a phone number listed on McEntire's website.
