Garth heading to court
In 2005, Garth Brooks made a $500,000 donation to Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in his native Oklahoma to honor his late mother, Colleen, who passed away from cancer in 1999. In court papers, Garth says that the hospital presented mock-ups of buildings to be constructed that would bear his beloved mother’s name. That all changed three years later when Garth says he was notified by the hospital that they were spending the money but would not be naming any buildings after his mother. The hospital has refused to return the money, at Garth’s request, because they say the donation was ”anonymous and unconditional.” |
