Zac launches label

Zac Brown of Zac Brown Band has launched his very own record label, Southern Ground Artists, Inc. According to reports, the label will support artists hailing from Brown’s home-state of Georgia. The roster includes Sonia Leigh, The Wood Brothers, Blackberry Smoke, Levi Lowrey and Nic Cowan. “I’d like to think there’s a movement coming out of Atlanta that’s like [Memphis-based soul label] Stax was, back in the ’60s,” Brown recently told The Tennessean.
