Carrie has a good debut weekend

 

Carrie Underwood stars in “Soul Surfer,” which hit theaters this past weekend. According to The Wall Street Journal, the film earned $11.1 million during opening weekend, which makes Soul Surfer the movie with the highest per-theater average of any new wide release. The movie tells the inspirational story of Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm to a tiger shark while training for a national surfing competition.  Underwood plays a youth counselor named Sarah Hill who helps guide Hamilton through tough times during her recovery.
