Toby Keith helps the Nashville Songwrites Association International with their MortgageToby Keith's acoustic concert at Nashville's Bluebird Café on June 28 has raised over $20,000. Keith's performance was part of the Bluebird Café's BirdSongs Series, which helps the Nashville Songwriters Association International in paying off the cost of purchasing the historic club. The show featured Keith performing for a nearly three-hour setlist of hits. Keith said in a statement: "God blessed me to be a songwriter first and foremost. I remember going to writer's night at the Bluebird. It's great to have a place for songwriters to showcase their songs. It can open a door that just makes a song fly. Just one moment of inspiration and you're off. Nashville needs to keep the Bluebird alive and thriving." The fundraiser also included an auction of two of Keith's signed Takamine guitars, which raised $5,000 each. |
