George will be the first to receive an award

On Saturday, August 28th, George Canyon was the first recipient of the Canadian Friends for Life Award this weekend, presented by Children With Diabetes (CWD) as part of the First Annual Friends For Life International Conference and Expo held in Vancouver, previous events having been held in the United States. The Award was presented to him during the Family and Friends Banquet at the Renaissance Harbourside Hotel and was followed by an intimate performance by the two time Juno Award winner. The Friends for Life Award is presented each year to a person who has made a tremendous and meaningful impact upon the lives of families who have children with type 1 diabetes.
