Now HERE'S the kind of study we could all use more of... there is mounting research that says, it's a myth that regularly eating fried foods causes heart attacks!!! WAIT! The research says it's the type of oil used, and whether or not it has been used before, that really matters.
The latest study, which is actually published in the British Medical Journal, found no association between the frequency of fried food consumption - where olive and sunflower oils are mostly used - and the incidence of serious heart disease. However, and you knew there had to be one... The British Heart Foundation warned not to "reach for the frying pan" yet, pointing out that the study follows a Mediterranean diet which, as a whole, is healthier than ours.
